Cruising with Clients
09.08.07
I've been an executive member of the World Trade Center Seattle for over three years. I like belonging there because, like my business, the treatment they give is very personal. They have world class hospitality and everyone there remembers your name!
While I've enjoyed the use of the conference rooms for my Graduates Roundtable, along with access to the dining room with its fabulous menu, spectacular view and wonderful staff, my socks were completely knocked off when I was given the opportunity to sponsor the Summer Members Reception on July 25th.
Columbia Hospitality gave me a fine set of theme choices and we picked a real winner when we chose the "Hollywood Classic". The hors' douvres and cocktails were presented with panache, featuring everything from oysters to cherries jubilee to kir royales. My guests raved about the delicious food and were delighted by the charming and fun movie props and lovely floral arrangements. It was as if we were all on a luxurious cruise ship--which is totally appropriate for a dining room that is named for the Holland America line overlooking the Seattle piers and skyline.
What were my reasons for sponsoring this reception?
1) Show clients my appreciation for their continued support of my business.
2) Provide an opportunity for many of my clients to meet one other.
3) Enthusiastically support the WTC and its members.
4) Introduce the WTC community to my clients at a fun event.
My expectations were exceeded and it WAS fun! My clients are still talking about it!
What creative ways can you combine networking and making your clients feel special?
Here I am, receiving my surprise (!) "Most Supportive Executive Member" award from Jack Creighton, Co-Chair, WTC Seattle Board of Governors.
